Gadkari says no

THE formation of government in Maharashtra really put BJP in a quandary. When it was realised that Devendra Fadnavis can’t hold the forte, RSS stalwarts and the Prime Minister’s Office contacted another stalwart of Maharashtra Nitin Gadkari to hold the command and take oath as Chief Minister of the state. Gadkari was keeping track and knew that moving from cabinet minister to chief minister was a move by his detractors to derail his presence at the centre. Sources disclosed that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh personally went to meet Gadkari and suggested that only he could form and manage the Chief Ministership of Maharashtra. Gadkari did not budge. Finally one of the top functionaries of the RSS met Gadkari and expressed a similar desire but Gadkari explained the scenario of Mumbai, how it’s not possible to form the government in the given scenario. Sources disclosed that Gadkari was ready to become Chief Minister in 2014 but the same people who were pursuing him now, played politics and did not allow him to become the Chief Minister. Events seem to have taken a full circle but this time Gadkari had the final say.
