despite kamal nath’s efficiency, contractors in lurch

KAMAL Nath, the Minister for Urban Development in the outgoing government, is known as a fast-track minister. He demands timely delivery from his officials. Kamal Nath is reputedly so fast that even while fighting elections from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, he was regularly addressing different administrative issues. It is a set rule that the top contractors in the State persuade the political dispensation to pursue the case of the Central Scheme so that work can be allotted to them later. The contractors offer advance money to the concerned ministers. It is a win-win situation for the Union Minister as well as the State Chief Ministers. In this government-to-government work allocation, no one can doubt the integrity of the political bosses. In the midst of the elections, sources disclosed to gfiles that projects worth approximately `9,000 crore were sanctioned to different states by Kamal Nath. He did his job well and the file went to the Ministry of Expenditure, which sanctions the expenditure. The noting on the file states that due to the elections and restrictions imposed by the Election Commission of India, the said projects cannot be sanctioned. Now, the contractors who have paid advances tothe political bosses do not know what to do in these circumstances. Does anyone haveany suggestions?
