His background as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Defence has come in handy for Central Vigilance Commissioner Pratyush Sinha, India’s topmost anti-corruption officer, in scrutiny of defence deals. A 1969 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, he was Secretary in the Ministry of Personnel,Public Grievances and Pension when he retired. His job as CVC requires him to interact closely with government personnel in scrutinizing the allegations against them. Sinha has a postgraduate degree in economics from the London School of Economics.
