Bric a Brac : Searching for a president

RSS tosses names
Vol. 12 | ISSUE 10 | JAN 2019

amit-shah-bjp-leaderTHERE is disenchantment among BJP leaders and workers against Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Majority of workers are frightened of a possible massive defeat in the upcoming Parliamentary Election. The RSS and its allies have been discussing why the BJP is in such a bad shape in the Hindi heartland? The majority feels that one abnormality that should immediately be corrected is that the prime minister and the party president are both Gujarati. This is not working for the Hindi belt, so at least the RSS should change the party president. Most of the party workers have never been happy with the way Amit Shah functions. They argue that the party is in need of a President who is available to all, listens to all. Following this, an RSS official suggested the name of Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In their opinion, Shivraj is both popular and cooperative but he is not ready to leave Madhya Pradesh. After this Nitin Gadkari’s name was put forth. Even the party cadre puts a seal of acceptance on his name. But the RSS feels that Modi will never approve for Gadkari. At the end, the heads have turned towards none other than Rajnath Singh, but the thakur from UP knows the intricacies of the Palace, he is enjoying his stint as home minister and not in a mood to move out of North Block. In fact, some say he is in a mood to play a bigger role after the 2019 general elections. gfiles end logo
